Led by the 8th-generation owner of Nagatani-en Pottery, this exclusive experience begins with a private guided tour of the historic estate. Guests will explore the pottery grounds and discover the secrets and unique characteristics of Iga-yaki donabe (clay pots) through informative displays, offering a rare opportunity to connect with the artisans behind the craft.
You will then gain exclusive access to a nationally registered Tangible Cultural Property—the former residence of the kiln’s founding family. Inside this historic setting, you will participate in a private, hands-on cooking workshop featuring the signature "Kamado-san" donabe.
This immersive workshop invites you to cook your own rice and prepare miso soup, all using traditional donabe cookware. As the steam rises and rich aromas fill the room, you will experience not only the art of cooking but also the very essence of Japanese culinary culture and daily life.
